Cyanotype Disk Holiday Ornament by Carol Ann Webster

These one-of-a-kind ornaments are truly works of love. I’m crazy about cyanotype on tea bags and I use the flowers I’ve grown in my flower beds in the process.

I make the disks from Paperclay rolled out and cut with a biscuit cutter that’s 2-1/2 inches wide. I hand-stamp the year (2024) with an old typesetter stamp into the wet clay. The cyanotype tea bags are glued to the dry Paperclay disks, I make a hole, and thread yarn or ribbon as a hanger. Then I finish it off with a shiny protective layer of gloss medium.

These ornaments make wonderful additions to the Christmas tree or look beautiful as package decorations. Each ornament begins with an original cyanotype tea bag.
