"The Midnight Oil'
12 x 12" Oil Abstract on Canvas
Diane K. Hewitt
Who hasn’t stayed awake late into the night to finish a project? As I write this piece at a late hour, this observation seems particularly relevant. We think we can work without interuption, and get more done late at night. Research shows that insufficient sleep can impair cognitive function, creativity, and overall mental health. According to the National Sleep Foundation, adults should aim for 7-9 hours of sleep per night for optimal performance. Perhaps this abstract painting can serve as a timely reminder for us all to prioritize a good night's rest.
