Sometimes it's fun to be a little different!
I love to step out on to my lanai early in the morning, just as my beautiful red hibiscus unfolds its ruffled petals for the day. Even though the blooms only last for a short time, the bright red color outshines all the other flowers that share the patio with it.
I normally like to finish a painting in one session, but this painting drew me in as I applied layer upon layer of color to create shading and depth. It's been a while since I painted a hard-edge "pop art" style painting. Hope you like it, because I sure enjoyed creating it!
